Jennifer Holliday once made a decision to agree to participate in the Presidential Inauguration but she began to get backlash from her fans, many of which are apart of the LGBT community. In a statement made on Saturday she apologized to her fans for he lapse in judgement and that she did not realize that this decision made her a Trump supporter. While she may have made her decision to back out other stars, such as Toby Keith, defended his decision to perform at the Inauguration saying that he does not see it as performing for Trump he sees it as performing for our Country and our Military. The day before Holliday backed out of the performance she was defending her decision to perform because she saw it as an opportunity to perform for the people but now because of the back lash she has no choice but to stand with the LGBT Community and not perform at the Inauguration Festivals or at the Welcome Concert. Trump insist that he is not bothered by the lack of A list celebrities but that the swearing-in is for the people and that it should not be about A list celebrities. People have to realize that bashing an artist for there political views goes against our right to political views or to believe what we want. Everyone is bashing our newest president because they believe he is going to take away all of their rights even though he has not done anything yet and most likely will not happen. We are doing that to the artist we are patronizing. The unfortunate thing for the artist is that they get criticism from which ever side they do not choose to agree with him. I am saying this from a stand point neither for or against either side of the political parties. I am for people having the right to actually say what they believe and not being bashed for their opinions.
